How We Clean Your Marble Floors
Marble is a hugely attractive material to have in any home or business, whether you choose it for flooring, for kitchen worktops, a shower room or an entire staircase. Investing in marble is an investment in the building itself, because it retains its value and will be much sought after if you choose to sell your property in future.
In maintenance terms, marble is pretty easy to keep clean on a daily basis, but left neglected or over the longer term, it can suffer from damage like any other material. You may think there’s no alternative but to replace the surface, but that’s not the case. Marble cleaning is a specialist task that can be undertaken by professionals like our team at Marble Shine Ltd, to restore the natural beauty and appearance of this amazing stone.
What Kind of Damage Warrants Professional Cleaning?
If your surface continues to look dull, no matter how much kitchen worktop polishing or floor scrubbing you do, then it could be time to call in the experts. Likewise, if you spot signs of damage, like scratches or gouges out of the surface, then stone polishing experts can address these too. Professional marble cleaning on a routine basis will also assist with hygiene, removing any germs and bacteria that might thrive in hard to reach areas, so it’s a desirable service to call in on a regular schedule if you operate a commercial kitchen, for instance.
What Will We Do?
Our first step, as we would with composite surface cleaning or granite surface cleaning, is to carry out a deep clean of the surface using rotary cleaning machines. We are continually investing in the latest machinery to achieve the best and deepest clean available. This heavy duty, mechanized cleaning is invaluable for large stretches of floor or worktop, but there are still those crevices and corners that can evade machine cleaning. That’s where we turn to sheer elbow grease, to ensure that all those hard to access areas are sparkling clean.
We next use marble grinding machinery over a series of steps, each time using abrasive pads in finer and finer grades. This process needs time and patience as it works to remove every scuff mark and scratch from the surface. Many stains that appear impossible to remove can also be eradicated through this process.
The final stage is to use a very fine abrasive pad to create that smooth, just-left-the-showroom finish. This creates a glossy look and enhances the natural colour of the marble used in your floor or staircase.
What Else Can We Tackle?
As well as marble, we’re also adept at cleaning and polishing a range of other stone and composite surfaces.
